Course Overview

Every older person has the right to feel safe, respected and free from abuse, neglect and harm.

The Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) helps protect older people receiving aged care services by ensuring serious incidents are identified, reported, investigated and managed appropriately.

This course will help staff understand their responsibilities in recognising abuse and neglect, responding to incidents and supporting safe, quality care.
